5…4…3…2…1…Happy New Year! Start 2012 off with a bang by throwing an unforgettable New Year’s Eve cocktail party. Whether you are having a big bonanza or a small get together, here are some ideas to keep your guests entertained until the clock strikes midnight!
Pick a theme. New Year’s Eve is the perfect time to turn your place into a casino or masquerade ball. Other popular themes include a murder mystery party or a silver and gold New Year’s Eve party.
Serve a signature cocktail. Find a recipe or create your own cocktail to have as the primary drink of the night. Of course you can also provide champagne and other beverages as well.
Make a playlist. When you send out your RSVP’s, ask guests to write down a couple of their favorite songs and make a playlist with all the tunes for the night. This ensures that everyone will get to hear what they want and it also makes for great conversation!
Provide a late night snack. In addition to any appetizers/hors d’oeuvres you serve at the beginning of the party, prepare a snack to pass out after the ball drops or a treat your guests can enjoy on the way home!
Cheers to a new year!
